Maryvale is 1-9 against Browne since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Bruins at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Maryvale made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tempe, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers put the hurt on the Buffaloes with a sharp 13-3 victory on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Isabel Hernandez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing seven bases while going 1-for-3. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.5 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Valerie Campos was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Gianna Ramos also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Browne made easy work of South Mountain on Thursday and carried off a 17-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.
Like Maryvale, Browne also got a great game from a two-way player: Shyla Vasquez. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). Vasquez was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ariza Martinez, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Annalyssia Ramos, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Browne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Mountain only managed six hits.
Maryvale's record is now 8-4. As for Browne, their record now sits at 11-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Maryvale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Browne struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
