Basketball Recap: Arianna White Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pasquotank County

Currituck County won the last time they faced Pasquotank County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Currituck County Knights snuck past the Pasquotank County Panthers with a 53-47 victory. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Panthers are ranked 517th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Currituck County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianna White, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. White is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Savannah Banks, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Currituck County was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasquotank County only posted three assists.

Despite the loss, Pasquotank County still got an impressive performance from Anylah Bowe, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 17 boards, and 12 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Veychara Eley, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Currituck County and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Pasquotank County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Currituck County will venture away from home to square off against Deep Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deep Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season. As for Pasquotank County, they will head out on the road to challenge First Flight at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
