Softball Game Preview: GRACE Christian Eagles vs. Ravenscroft Ravens

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when GRACE Christian Eagles face off against Ravenscroft Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenscroft took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on GRACE Christian, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, GRACE Christian beat Harrells Christian Academy 8-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Addison Vercellino made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. Vercellino was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lydia Lester, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Caroline Gausman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Meanwhile, Ravenscroft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 30-20 to Wake Christian Academy.

GRACE Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ravenscroft, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went GRACE Christian's way against Ravenscroft in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as GRACE Christian made off with a 22-12 victory. Will GRACE Christian repeat their success, or does Ravenscroft have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
