North Kitsap and Clover Park are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The North Kitsap Vikings will face off against the Clover Park Timberwolves at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Kitsap has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while Clover Park will come in with five straight wins.

North Kitsap came up into this matchup off a tough 30-point defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Bainbridge by a score of 55-52 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Spartans are ranked 63rd).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Clover Park against Eatonville on Friday as the squad secured an 88-48 victory. The contest marked the Timberwolves' most dominant win of the season.

Clover Park's win came from a few key players North Kitsap will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Marshall Scott, who made all 8 shots he took racking up 22 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Simpson, who made all 7 shots he took for 17 points.

Clover Park pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points over those games. As for North Kitsap, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

North Kitsap strolled past Clover Park in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 60-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Kitsap since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
