Basketball Game Preview: Elliot Christian Eagles vs. Delta Charter Dragons

The Elliot Christian Eagles will head out to face off against the Delta Charter Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elliot Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.

Elliot Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Vanguard College Prep just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.

Elliot Christian might have lost, but man, Jeremy Nielsen was a machine: he posted 12 points in addition to five blocks and three steals. Those five blocks gave Nielsen a new career-high. Justus Tokheim was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delta Charter). They blew past Don Pedro 70-19 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Dragons have posted since February 1, 2024.

Delta Charter's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Elliot Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Elliot Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Delta Charter in their previous matchup back in January, winning 50-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elliot Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
