Jefferson Davis Academy came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Wardlaw Academy, but Cooper Davis wouldn't allow it. The Patriots secured a 46-40 W over the Raiders on Thursday for which the team can thank Davis, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.8 steals per game.

Another player making a difference was Sam Coughenour, who posted nine points. He also put up a block, which was his first of the season.

Wardlaw Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Wardlaw Academy will head out to face off against Curtis Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, they will take on Andrew Jackson Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 65.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
