Overbrook snaps ten-game streak of wins at home

Recap: Overbrook Rams vs. Burlington Township Falcons

It was a good run, but the Overbrook Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 49-41 to Burlington Township. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Overbrook has scored all season.

Burlington Township's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Irving Singletary led the charge by scoring nine points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. Singletary continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Quayd Hendryx, who scored 12 points.

Overbrook's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Burlington Township, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overbrook will challenge Lindenwold at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lindenwold will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Overbrook is ranked 98th). As for Burlington Township, they will head out on the road to square off against Doane Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Doane Academy: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Burlington Township has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
