Basketball Recap: Thurgood Marshall Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Thurgood Marshall came into Monday's game having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over the Belmont Bison on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Bison back in December of 2024, they had to take a 38-34 loss.

Despite the defeat, Belmont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore MaraMarie Rucker posted six points and 12 rebounds.

Thurgood Marshall's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Belmont, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Thurgood Marshall will take on Ponitz Career Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Belmont, they will square off against Stivers School for the Arts at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
