Baseball Recap: Knox Wins Going Away Against West Central

Knox won the last time they faced West Central and things went their way on Saturday too. The Redskins blew past the Trojans 7-1. Considering the Redskins have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Knox saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Downs, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run. Another was Raymond Boys, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Knox is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for West Central, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Knox will face off against South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redskins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Satellites have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for West Central, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-14 victory against Caston on the 28th.
