Jennings County was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the East Central Trojans 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Trojans back in April, they had to take a 16-13 loss.

The team relied heavily on Riley Byford, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. Emma Clapp was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Jennings County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for East Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.

Jennings County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Central, they will be playing at home against Greenfield-Central at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
