Colony faced Lathrop in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over the Malemutes. Considering the Knights have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Emma Minnick made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
