Soccer Recap: Manteno Wins Going Away Against Grant Park

Manteno kept a clean sheet against Grant Park on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Dragons. Manteno might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Grant Park from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Ben Froeschle led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

The win made it two in a row for Manteno and bumps their season record up to 6-2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Grant Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manteno will head out to face off against Bradley-Bourbonnais at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grant Park, they will face off against St. Anne at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grant Park will need to watch out since St. Anne have now posted at least four goals in their last four games.
