The St. Bede Bruins will challenge the Rochelle Hubs at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in St. Bede's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Rochelle has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, St. Bede turned things around against Durand on Monday. They blew past the Bulldogs 13-1. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Macy Strauch was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Strauch was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, St. Bede got a massive performance out of Macy Kelly, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Kelly has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ava Balestri, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
St. Bede lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Rochelle not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 17-7). Everything went their way against South Beloit as they made off with a 7-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hubs in their matchups with the Sobos: they've now won three in a row.
Lauren Dyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mya Martinez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Jaclynn Lira was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Rochelle's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for St. Bede, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Rochelle's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Bede has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Rochelle, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given St. Bede's sizable advantage in that area, the Hubs will need to find a way to close that gap.
