Softball Game Preview: Strawberry Crest Chargers vs. Wharton Wildcats

The Strawberry Crest Chargers are taking a road trip to challenge the Wharton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Strawberry Crest has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Friday, Strawberry Crest came up short against Steinbrenner and fell 11-7. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Ava Cater was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Brooke Burruezo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Wharton fell victim to Wiregrass Ranch and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Bulls by a score of 1-0. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Wharton now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Strawberry Crest, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Strawberry Crest couldn't quite get it done against Wharton when the teams last played on March 11th as they fell 10-5. Can Strawberry Crest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
