Soccer Game Preview: North Wilkes vs. Alleghany + How To Watch

The North Wilkes Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Alleghany Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. North Wilkes' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

North Wilkes lost 10-1 to Starmount on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, North Wilkes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 527th, while Starmount are ranked 237th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Alleghany was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They came up short against Wilkes Central, falling 5-0.

North Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Alleghany, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-3.

North Wilkes might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Alleghany when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
