Basketball Recap: Dubuque Senior Comes Up Short

Dubuque Senior lost against Iowa City West back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dubuque Senior Rams took a blow against the Iowa City West Trojans, falling 71-37. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Trojans are ranked 12th).

Dubuque Senior has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Iowa City West, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dubuque Senior has already played their next match (against Jefferson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Iowa City West will take on Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Prairie will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Iowa City West surely won't give up without a fight.
