Baseball Game Preview: Stevenson Patriots vs. Vestavia Hills Rebels

The Stevenson Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Vestavia Hills Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stevenson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight defeats, while Vestavia Hills will come in with three straight victories.

On Wednesday, Stevenson came up short against Hoover and fell 4-1.

Stevenson got a good showing from Yuni Hamideh, who struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Hamideh has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Stevenson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Frank Costabile, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Vestavia Hills earned a 6-1 win over Stanhope Elmore on Wednesday.

Vestavia Hills' victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
