Illini West has gone a perfect 3-0 against Farmington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Chargers will square off against the Farmers at 4:30 p.m. Illini West has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Illini West fell victim to Carrollton and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 19-0. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Farmington posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Kewanee 11-10. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Farmington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Illini West, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Illini West skirted past Farmington 6-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
