Football Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hillcrest lost against Bayside Academy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jaguars had to suffer through a 56-6 loss at the hands of the Admirals. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.

Davis Barnett was his usual excellent self, throwing for 257 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes for Bayside Academy. Barnett is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Cain, who picked up 66 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Bayside Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, Hillcrest will look to defend their home field on Friday against Monroe County at 7:00 p.m. The Jaguars will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bayside Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Admirals' defense better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 38.7 points per game this season.
