Northern Adirondack gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the AuSable Valley Patriots 9-2. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 14-3 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Emmitt Leclair and Jackson Bassett did most of the damage at the plate: Leclair went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Bassett scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Bassett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ahanu Seguin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Northern Adirondack beat AuSable Valley by a score of 7-5 on Saturday.
