Basketball Game Preview: Lake Minneola Hawks vs. Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Lake Minneola Hawks take on the Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Lake Minneola didn't have too much trouble with Tavares as they won 47-33.

Lake Minneola found their leader in freshman Harley Velez, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nya Jones, who scored nine points.

Meanwhile, Central Florida Christian Academy posted their closest win since December 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past Leesburg 45-43.

Central Florida Christian Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Lake Minneola, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.

Lake Minneola didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Central Florida Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2020, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Central Florida Christian Academy's Talia Kemp, who went 9 for 15 en route to 24 points and eight steals.
