Soccer Recap: Granite City Comes Up Short

Granite City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Fort Zumwalt West Jaguars, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Granite City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 387th in Illinois, while Fort Zumwalt West are ranked 57th in Missouri).

Granite City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Fort Zumwalt West, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granite City will host Gibault Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Zumwalt West, they will be playing at home against Liberty at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
