Recap: Pioneer Panthers vs. Caston Comets
The Pioneer Panthers lost against the Caston Comets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pioneer took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Caston. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pioneer in their matchups with Caston: they've now lost five in a row.
Caleb Stinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Caston, scoring 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stinson has scored all season. Grant Yadon was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Pioneer dropped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Caston, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pioneer will take on South Newton at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Newton is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Caston, they will head out on the road to challenge Tri-County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tri-County comes in on four and Caston on three.
