Softball Recap: Byron Takes a Loss

Marengo hit Byron with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 11-1 to the Indians.

Byron saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Larkin Knoll, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Knoll has hit this season.

Byron has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Marengo, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record this season.

Byron does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marengo, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Aurora Central Catholic on the 23rd.
