Softball Recap: South Florence Comes Up Short

South Florence was the 6-2 winner over Sumter when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The South Florence Bruins fell just short of the Sumter Gamecocks by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. The loss was the Bruins' first of the season.

Page White made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ava Black, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Florence fell to 2-1. As for Sumter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-0-1.

South Florence wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-0 win against Wilson Hall on the 6th. As for Sumter, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Carolina Forest on the 6th.
