Volleyball Recap: Chaney Takes a Loss

Chaney extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 3-0 to the Struthers Wildcats. The Cowboys were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Chaney's offense was headlined by Aaliyah Jackson and Elizabeth Stankorb, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Raiyan Al-Kara'In and her eight assists. Ny'Asia Milender controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Struthers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 19, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Natalie Wolikow was nothing short of spectacular: she had ten aces and five assists. Those ten aces gave her a new career-high.

Chaney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against McKinley on the 28th. As for Struthers, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Lakeview on the 28th.
