Basketball Game Preview: Mayer Wildcats vs. Bagdad Sultans

The Mayer Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Bagdad Sultans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mayer has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Mayer turned things around against Bagdad on Monday. They walked away with a 35-25 victory over the Sultans.

Mayer can attribute much of their success to Taylor McCann, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave McCann a new career-high in steals.

Mayer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Bagdad is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15. As for Mayer, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14.
