Baseball Recap: North Central Takes a Loss

Stephenson hit North Central with a four-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jets fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-3. The Jets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 8-4.

Aidyn Burton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Burton is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Pipkorn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

North Central now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Stephenson, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

North Central will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Superior Central at 4:00 p.m. on May 12. As for Stephenson, they will be playing at home against Norway at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
