Basketball Recap: Dugway Takes a Loss

Dugway lost against Pinnacle back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs took a blow against the Panthers, falling 81-20. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-11.

Despite the loss, Dugway saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gary Williams Jr posted 16 points.

Pinnacle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Howell led the charge by going 8-for-15 to rack up 21 points and four steals. Bryson Shumway was another key player, shooting 60% from the field en route to 14 points and four steals.

Dugway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pinnacle, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Dugway will square off against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinnacle, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Telos at 7:00 p.m. on December 5.
