Adding to the longest winning streak in Century this week, Foothill beat El Dorado 27-14. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Villa Park took down Brea Olinda 43-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Eddie Delatorre in the win.
Canyon's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Corey Elsasser threw for 132 and 1 touchdown and Chris Prescott had 107 yards receiving. On the ground Charlie Treanor chipped in 106 yards. Matt Meier helped Canyon's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 18 yards.
Treanor was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 106 yards on 23 carries as the Comanches beat El Modena. Teammate Elsasser added to the ground attack by rushing for 49 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Dylan Osborne of the Spartans is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,453. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Prescott. The Canyon star has 26 catches for 649 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Canyon's Prescott goes up against Villa Park's Lance Vecchio.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jim Kunau's team takes on Dusan Ancich's team. The Comanches are currently in third, while the Spartans are in second.
