Preview: Tulelake Honkers vs. Dunsmuir Tigers
After ten games on the road, Tulelake is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Dunsmuir Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Saturday, things could have been worse for Tulelake, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-44 loss to Portola. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tulelake in their matchups with Portola: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Dunsmuir's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Hayfork 80-45.
Dunsmuir might have lost, but man, Michael Kellar was a machine: he scored 34 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Kellar scored a full 75.6% of Dunsmuir's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tulelake's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Dunsmuir, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Tulelake didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Dunsmuir in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory. Will Tulelake repeat their success, or does Dunsmuir have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
