The Elkhart Lions will square off against the Northridge Raiders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elkhart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Elkhart's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Westview hitters got past them. The Lions fell 12-8 to the Warriors on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Elkhart saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodey Weaver, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two doubles.

Meanwhile, Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Crown Point. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Raiders have suffered since April 26th.

Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Northridge, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.

Elkhart was able to grind out a solid win over Northridge in their previous meeting on May 3rd, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
