Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Makes It 19 in a Row at Home

Lincoln East put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Lincoln High Links 25-3. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Troy Peltz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Peltz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Greyson Bjorkman looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Bryson Rhodes, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Dele Odulate, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Lincoln East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Lincoln East's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln High, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln East will challenge rival Elkhorn South at 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lincoln High is set to square off against their familiar foe Lincoln Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
