Softball Game Preview: Ranchview Wolves vs. Krum Bobcats

Ranchview hasn't had much luck against Krum recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Ranchview will look to defend their home field against Krum at 6:00 p.m. Ranchview has given up an average of 14.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ranchview is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Panther Creek, falling 17-0.

Meanwhile, Krum had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Tigers.

Addison Martindale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lillian Williams and Jazmine Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Williams scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Jackson scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Zimmerman, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Krum's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Ranchview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
