Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Christopher Stoddart and Cayden Thomas Lead Mitchell to Victory

There's no place like home for Mitchell, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Anclote Sharks 70-47 on Tuesday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Mitchell was led to victory by Cayden Thomas and Christopher Stoddart. Thomas went 8 for 9 on his way to 16 points and five assists, while Stoddart dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, Stoddart is now averaging an impressive 8.5 boards per game. Eli Wilson was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Mitchell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Anclote, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Mitchell will face off against Largo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mitchell is facing Largo at the right time seeing as Largo is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Anclote, they will take on St. Petersburg Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
