Soccer Game Preview: Staunton River vs. Fleming

Staunton River hasn't had much luck against Fleming recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will challenge the Colonels at 7:00 p.m.

Staunton River is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 4-0 to Liberty. That's two games in a row now that Staunton River have lost by exactly four goals.

Meanwhile, Fleming made easy work of Franklin County on Monday and carried off a 5-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Fleming, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Fleming is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five games. As for Staunton River, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15-1.

Staunton River suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Fleming in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
