Soccer Game Preview: Nimitz vs. MacArthur

Nimitz is 0-9-1 against MacArthur since February of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The Nimitz Cougars will welcome the MacArthur Generals at 7:30 p.m. Nimitz will be strutting in after a victory while MacArthur will be coming in after a defeat.

Nimitz took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-3 win over Randle. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, MacArthur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 4-0 to Kingwood. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Mustangs are ranked 14th).

MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Nimitz, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Nimitz suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to MacArthur when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Nimitz avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
