Football Game Preview: East Rockingham Eagles vs. Harrisonburg Blue Streaks + How To Watch

East Rockingham is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will face off against the Harrisonburg Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. East Rockingham's defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so Harrisonburg's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. East Rockingham simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clarke County 49-7. The game marked East Rockingham's most dominant win of the season so far.

East Rockingham's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Raines, who rushed for 126 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes. Those 126 rushing yards gave Raines a new career-high. Demetrius Arrington was another key rusher, gaining 132 total yards.

East Rockingham didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Arrington and Peter Nickel.

Meanwhile, Harrisonburg came up short against Page County on Friday, falling 44-20.

The win made it two in a row for East Rockingham and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points in those games. As for Harrisonburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

East Rockingham took their win against Harrisonburg in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 21-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
