Football Game Preview: Oglethorpe County Patriots vs. Banks County Leopards + How To Watch

Oglethorpe County hasn't had much luck against Banks County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Leopards at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Oglethorpe County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Providence Christian Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Patriots really took it to the Storm for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-7 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Oglethorpe County's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caden Hartrum, who rushed for 65 yards and two scores. The Patriots are undefeated when Hartrum posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of O'Maury Huggs, who rushed for 89 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Banks County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 37-3 win over Commerce. The Leopards' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Oglethorpe County better keep an eye on Dayden Rogers. He was instrumental in Banks County's win, rushing for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. Those 230 rushing yards gave Rogers a new career-high.

Oglethorpe County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Banks County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Oglethorpe County came up short against Banks County in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 29-23. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
