Basketball Recap: Lake Worth Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked South Plantation

The third road match was the charm for Lake Worth, as they earned their first road win of the season. They secured a 55-49 W over the South Plantation Paladins on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Trojans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Paladins are ranked 99th).

When it comes to explaining why South Plantation lost, don't look at Lathan Coleman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Coleman is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Travis Chin was another key player, going 7 for 15 on his way to 18 points.

Lake Worth's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for South Plantation, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Lake Worth and Newberry will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for South Plantation, they will square off against West Hall at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th.
