Baseball Recap: Xavier Prep Extends Winning Streak to Three

Xavier Prep had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Palm Springs Indians a 5-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saints also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Kainoa Luna made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Zain Valdivia was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hyun Jun Kim, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Xavier Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Palm Springs, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Xavier Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against Palm Springs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
