Basketball Game Preview: Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix vs. Pasco Pirates

The Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix and the Pasco Pirates will round out the year against one another at at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Pasco likes a good challenge.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate turned things around against King last Saturday. They walked away with a 58-50 win over the Lions. Given the Phoenix's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Lions are ranked 654th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for SIMEON JORDEN, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was EMANI BROWN, who posted 11 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Pasco came up short against Clearwater Central Catholic on Friday and fell 45-37. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Pasco, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
