Poetry Community Christian suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 83-19 loss at the hands of First Baptist. Poetry Community Christian has not had much luck with First Baptist recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alex Fernandez Woods, who scored six points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Ayan Hamilton was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Heritage Christian's loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Poetry Community Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Heritage Christian against Poetry Community Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2016 as the team secured a 62-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heritage Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
