Baseball Game Preview: All Saints Central Cougars vs. Dryden Cardinals

The All Saints Central Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Dryden Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. All Saints Central will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

All Saints Central came out on top against Sand Creek on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Cougars blew past the Aggies 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dryden ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over North Huron.

Tj Mersino was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Stankevich, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

All Saints Central pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. As for Dryden, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

All Saints Central took their victory against Dryden in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
