On Wednesday Warren's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Genoa Central Dragons 3-1. The three-run effort marked the Lumberjacks' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Kolby Pope made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Pope was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season.

Pope wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Spears, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Spears snagged this season.

Warren pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Genoa Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Coming up, Warren will take on Dumas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Genoa Central, they will face off against Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
