Basketball Recap: The Pilgrim Academy Takes a Loss

The Pilgrim Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Gloucester County Christian Conquerors and fell 50-21. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 35-17 last Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why The Pilgrim Academy lost, don't look at Isabella Cosme. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Cosme has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Brittin, who earned 13 points.

Even though they lost, The Pilgrim Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

The Pilgrim Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Gloucester County Christian, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

The Pilgrim Academy has already played their next matchup (against Emmanuel Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gloucester County Christian will square off against King's Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
