Basketball Recap: Caney Valley Falls Short of Burlington in the Playoffs

Caney Valley and Burlington squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Caney Valley had to settle for second. They took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burlington Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bullpups of the 51-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.

Burlington found their leader in sophomore Mac Medlock, who posted 22 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Medlock is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Grace Birk, who put up nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Caney Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Burlington, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.

Caney Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Burlington, they have already played their next match, a 41-31 loss against Girard on the 7th.
