Bellbrook has gone 8-2 against Oakwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Lumberjacks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bellbrook barely beat Franklin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Eagles never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. The Golden Eagles have beaten the Wildcats the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Oakwood had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Cougars.

Braden Devine made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Patterson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Oakwood's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bellbrook, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Bellbrook took their victory against Oakwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-5 score. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Lumberjacks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
