Baseball Recap: Centerville Bulldogs vs. Richmond Red Devils
Centerville had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it four. They lost 6-0 to the Richmond Red Devils. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
As for Richmond, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9. Considering they have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
For Richmond's part, Ja'Riyah Delucio was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Delucio has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick McKinley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.
Centerville and Richmond could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Bulldogs will square off against Northeastern at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (282 vs. 139). Meanwhile, Richmond (ranked 170th) will meet Mt. Vernon (ranked 18th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
