Volleyball Recap: Waverly/South Shore Takes a Loss

Waverly/South Shore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers. The Coyotes were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 16-25, 25-13, 25-8.

Jaina Johnson paced Waverly/South Shore's offense, picking up 12 kills. Johnson were helped by Marlie Riter and Clara Heuer, who contributed ten assists each. Brianna Gottschalk controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Waverly/South Shore's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Great Plains Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Waverly/South Shore didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] on the 30th. As for Great Plains Lutheran, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Freeman on the 27th.
